Andy Gorrill

A true Mojave Desert native, Andy Gorrill grew up in awe with the wonders the rocks had to offer. Andy has been climbing in Joshua Tree for over 20 years. Andy is often found exploring unknown and undeveloped climbing areas throughout the “Monument.” Andy has found great ambition and inspiration in finding routes he hasn’t done before only to share the routes for the climber at hand. From new routes to classics, hard to easy, obscure to obvious, cracks to face to sport to slabs, Andy knows the layout of JTNP and can provide an awesome climbing experience.

Joshua Tree National park has become insanely popular in recent years. But for Andy, this is an opportunity to guide his clients to areas without crowds or traffic.

Andy is an AMGA certified Single Pitch Instructor, a certified Wilderness first Responder, and a credentialed elementary school Music Teacher. Andy leads classes for Boy Scout Merritt Badges, lead climbing, anchor building, sport climbing, gym-to-outdoor climbing, and is able to cater your climbing experience to fit your needs.

Andy’s favorite climbing areas include: Les Calanques in France, Half Dome, Shuteye Ridge, Pinnacles National Park, sport climbs in Iceland, Red Rocks in Nevada, anything in Arizona, and Joshua Tree.
